A recent study of the manufacturing segment states that 63% of manufacturing organizations exceed their ERP budgets and their overheads tend to be higher than the average among all industries. This is due to the complex nature of manufacturing ERP systems which require customizations and integrations.

The Situation

One of North America’s leading manufacturers of heavy-duty filters were the victims of the ERP challenges faced by the manufacturing industry. The company had several instances of legacy ERP system CINCOM, which was ported on separate servers. This was resulting in over capacity of hardware and IT resources as well as integration issues with other ancillary systems. All these challenges resulted in operational issues, barriers to improve company-wide efficiencies and obstacles to growth….until Microtek came aboard.

Microtek to the Rescue

Microtek helped the client reduce their ERP infrastructure costs and streamlined operations by designing APIs and Integration points from the Oracle Apps System with their ancillary systems. Microtek consultants were the part of project team to provide Oracle Apps 11.x technical and functional support during this upgrade project. They also developed customized reports and forms that improved business processes agility.

Outcome

Upgrading to Oracle Apps transformed ERP systems, optimized and streamlined manufacturing operations to a large extent. The Solution

Microtek Consultants provided a complete solution with the highest efficiency and time-to-market approach by building offers to customers in the express space of enterprise offers. These services transformed data to XML, consumable by the Comergent tool, to create offers systemically and without manual intervention. These services are built on autonomous and tightly defined functional units for interoperability between applications. The Situation

The USSD application was facing downtime due to aggregator and network issues after being reported by the end customer, which impacted the brand value of the bank resulting in lower customer satisfaction. These issues were being handled reactively.

The Solution

Microtek Systems created a simulator to understand the issue pattern, which replicated the end-user experience and then analyzed the response from the application at various steps. It notified the support team instantly if any issues were detected. An intuitive dashboard was created to view the overall health and availability of the application.

It resulted in robust monitoring of the USSD application, proactive addressing of downtime-related issues, and pattern of issues which helped the development team to reach the root cause of the issue quickly. The intuitive dashboard displayed the overall health of the application.

Two affiliated insurance companies look on to Microtek Systems for a seamless data-migration solution in North America.

Overview

The partnership deal between two major insurance companies in North America led to challenges in the consolidation of accounts- merging business processes and data points accurately.

The Situation

Due to heavy datasets consisting of vital customer information, the companies wanted to ensure smooth servicing of accounts post the transition and put a system in place that would seamlessly extract data from the source, both current and historical, and transport the data in an understandable format to the target system. This process would execute a parallel-run time frame, sourcing all historical and current transactions and sending them over to the target until the cut-off date. The other challenge was reconciling data between the two systems daily and fixing any inaccuracies.

The Solution

Client satisfaction was of utmost importance, and data accuracy was the key driving force for this project. Microtek assessed the situation and built a solution to ensure a smooth data transition from source to target and seamlessly integrate the two systems.

Microtek developed a data pipeline that would source the data from various legacy and live systems at the source. A pre-transfer reconciliation was done to ensure that the data in the converted set aligned with the source systems’ data. Various intuitive dashboards were set up to show the conversion processes’ progress, highlighting any data inconsistencies and recon issues.

Microtek developed a recon engine that would absorb extracts from the source and target systems and match the numbers at the transaction and account levels.

Outcome

All this resulted in a very robust, efficient and effective application, that, not only converted data from target to source, but also helped fix any data inconsistencies in legacy applications, at the source. Error tracking within the dashboard applications helped in grouping and prioritizing the fixes. End of the day, customers were transitioned over to the new system, without any issues.
